In the 1990s this was still the primary school building in Forjães, but the signs of degradation began to accentuate and when the school function was transferred to the new Integrated Basic School, the Municipality of Esposende decided to remodel the property and give it a new life. The architectural intervention was very careful, so as not to introduce abrupt ruptures with the previous building. The current Cultural Centre, in addition to hosting the Parish Council, has a Library, Multimedia Room, Auditorium and Gallery/Cafeteria. Outside, the gardens are an invitation to a stroll.

E, ainda insatisfeito, encomendou ao Mestre Jorge Colaço painéis de azulejo para a decoração interior. Rodrigues de Faria, completada a obra, realizou uma doação, sem qualquer contrapartida, a favor do Estado Português, que passou a ser o legítimo proprietário das escolas. Nos anos de 1990 ainda era este o edifico da escola primária em Forjães, mas os sinais de degradação começavam a acentuar-se e quando a função escolar passou para a nova Escola Básica Integrada, a Câmara Municipal de Esposende decidiu remodelar o imóvel e dar-lhe nova vida. A intervenção arquitetónica foi muito cuidadosa, para não introduzir ruturas abruptas com o edificado anterior. O atual Centro Cultural, para além de acolher a Junta de Freguesia, dispõe de Biblioteca, Sala Multimédia, Auditório e Galeria/Cafetaria. No exterior, os jardins são um convite a um passeio.
